Age Calculator

Find your exact age in years, months and days — free, in your browser, nothing uploaded.

Use this free age calculator to find your exact age in years, months and days. Enter your date of birth, and the tool also shows your total days lived and your next birthday. It runs entirely in your browser, needs no sign-up, and never uploads your date of birth anywhere.

Last tested: 1 November 2026.

How to use this age calculator

  1. Enter your date of birth using the date picker, or type it in the format your browser shows.
  2. Leave the second date blank to calculate your age today, or enter a different reference date if you need your age as of a particular date.
  3. Click Calculate Age.
  4. Read your exact age in years, months and days, together with your total days lived and the date of your next birthday.

If you enter a reference date that falls before the date of birth, the tool shows a clear error instead of a result.

A worked example from the live tool

For a birth date of 10 March 2000 as of 1 November 2026, the tool gives:

You are 26 years, 7 months and 22 days old.

That is 9,732 days in total. Your next birthday is in 129 days (3/10/2027).

The dates in this example are test dates, not a real person’s birth date.

How the counting works

The tool counts completed years from your date of birth to the reference date, then completed months, then the remaining days, borrowing days from the previous month where needed. Total days lived is a different measure: it counts every day, including leap days.

Born on 29 February? A live test with a birth date of 29 February 2000 as of 1 November 2026 gave: You are 26 years, 8 months and 3 days old. That is 9,742 days in total. Your next birthday is in 120 days (3/1/2027). In other words, this tool shows 1 March 2027 as the next birthday in a non-leap year. This is how this tool counts; it is not presented as a legal rule, and local custom and legal rules can differ.

Where exact age matters

Exact age shows up in school admissions, driving licence eligibility, and other age limits, as well as in everyday life: parents often track a baby’s age in months because development milestones are described that way. The reference date is part of the answer, so if a form asks for your age as of a particular date, use that date, not today.

Tips and common mistakes

Always double-check the year you enter. A single wrong digit, for example 1998 instead of 1989, changes the result by nine years, and the tool cannot know you made a typing error unless the date is impossible or in the future. For babies and young children, age in months is often more informative than age in years.

Limits you should know

This tool gives a calendar age only. It does not check identity, eligibility, or any legal age rule, and it cannot correct a wrong birth date. Future dates and dates before the birth date are flagged in plain language, not shown as an age.

Privacy note

Your date of birth stays in your browser and is never sent to a server, stored, or shared. If you have a question about this page, use the contact page.

Derived readings from the tool result

Reading the result for a form

  • If a form asks for age in completed years, give the completed years alone.
  • If a form asks for age as of a date, give the full years, months and days.
  • Always use the form’s reference date, not today, when one is given.
  • This is a calendar age only, not a legal decision.
